So you prefer to be in a little socialism rather than a big socialism?

They are getting their way. Read the news. Every day more freedoms lost. Join in the anti EU bandwagon and sign up for another review for a referendum. The EU vote until they get what they want so we need to do the same.

Well fortunately for us every version of socialism ALWAYS fails totally, so for the prepper community like the Nomads in the Steppes and Siberian Tundra, or the Mongols , or the ethnic Albanians, or the roma in the Balkans, or the Karens in Burma, Or the Montagnards in Vietnam etc we will have to hunker down and wait for it to collapse. We set up self sufficent families, groups, teams etc and let it wash over us. And execute anyone in our retreat who talks about communes and coops etc Smile

Its our only practical defence against a massive repressive overwhelming burocracy, setting up a parallel grey economy and community on the edges of their socialist totalitarian utopia.

I'd prefer to be living in a UK that doesn't waste precious cash on being a net donor to the EU (as is currently the case). At present our total national debt to GDP ratio is almost 500%, the worst of all major nations. Why are we paying for Greece, Spain, Ireland, et al to have nice roads when our own economy is in such rotten condition?

£14 Billion a year just to be in the EU, another billion on Foreign aid, £4 billion on nuclear submarines, countless billions wasted on welfare, they are very generous with the tax payers money.

By the same logic England should leave the UK so it doesn't have to fund Scotland and Northern Ireland.

I think the submarines are worthwhile. The nuclear deterrant is worth having and submarines are a very cost effective way to deliver a nuke.
'Rogue nations' will get the nuke, non-nuclear proliferation attempts slow it down but it's inevitable. Knowing that there is some level of reciprocity will dissuade all but the most fanatical lunatics from lobbing one at us.
(And when a fanatical lunatic does lob one at us we can die in the knowledge that we’re going to get them back)

(1) I love your thinking
(2)We can launch nuclear tipped GLCMs from trucks these days, So I would rather see two more MLRS regiments with nuclear munitions and spend the other billions on adding another 10 Battalions of The Rifles, but I'm biased Smile
