Came across a lovely sight today.
Walking through a local wood, I came across a family being led round by their kids via a GPS. THey were Geocaching.
Talking to the father, the two kids have been geocaching for the last three years from the age of FOUR
Apparently they have just begun to use silva compasses and basic maps.
The kids knew various species of trees and quite a lot about the woods themselves.
What a brilliant find, a family where the kids are learning things that a lot of adults can only dream about.
A final note. All four had packs on. Basic EDC's. The father boasting that the kids had helped to customise their own bags.

I know people that go Geocaching. They love it but they spend all day on it. I don't know how they have the time.

Social services have been informed. Clearly the family you saw was a right wing, gun nut survivalist training his own anti government militia!

It is the best sig ever, I laugh every time I see it, low profile all the way.
As for that family fair play to them.

thank goodness someone is teaching their kids something, my father never taught me anything he could always do it better himself, so everything i have learnt to do is self taught..even computers..thats why i know just enough to get by and no more.
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.

Sounds like a great way to get the family out and about for the day. Good on 'em!
