Will they really open up that can of worms. It will set a precedent and confirm our status as a third world country.

Well, looks like Assange has got his new buddies attention seeking too. Let's face it he doesn't like being out of the spotlight for too long.

dont think PLOD will storm the embassy, but even if they give Assange asylum, he still has to get from the embassy to the airport, THATS when Plod will arrest him!
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.

thing is they can just walk in and arrest him ! embassys are not foreign soil , its just an agreement in principle that both nations will not enter unless serious crime is committed ! british special forces nearly went into the lybian embassy in 1984 after yvonne fletcher was shot dead , and did go into the iranian embassy in May 1980 with out permission of the iranians , its a bit of a worry , hope its all sabre rattling and trying to get them to hand him over , what the betting the usa is behind the letter being sent?

IF the oiks, radicals, anarchists etc who support Mr Assange want to i could imagine they could cause some serious mischief as they are proobably the very best connected part of alternive society, their comms systems make us look stone age. they have a huge network interconnected by various social media, I reckon they could insite mass protests by young radicals, students, activists etc and you know full well the gangs, chavs, looters, rioters criminals, socialists etc would gladly jump onto the band wagon. and thats not mentioning the mass hacking/ service denial mischief they are capable of creating.

Demonstrators also protested outside the British embassy in Ecuador's capital. Images from Quito showed protesters holding signs saying "We are sovereign, not colonies" and a union jack being stepped on.

Our flag being trod on again? There's a surprise ! Are we not hated enough? yet again sticking our noses into other peoples affairs.
