Fishing wire use

I have bought some fishing line/wire and wondered if it had any other use apart from fishing?
An idea of mine was...Could I use it to string/hang bits of rabbit/game and smoke it?
I have used it to make necklaces before and to hang xmas decs..so could it be used to hang meat? Any ideas please x

well different fishing wires have different tensile strengths, should say somewhere on the spool ...but apparently it can offer be less than is stated, heres a thread i found related to it

but at any rate, cordage is cordage and as such carries all the same uses as it normally would....you can use it for trapping, tying stuff together, stitching wounds, emergency shoelaces, lashing, net making, trip line, other assorted traps and snares, dental floss etc. etc.

oh and just off the top of my head, being female, a hair band! i frequently use string to tie my hair up if i cant find a hair band

oh and you could use it to tie off bags containing items, stitching clothes, i really could go on for sometime xD

instead of fishing wire, i keep a spool of Strimmer wire in my "possibles", stronger and cheaper than fishing line, available in any DIY or gardening shop.

isnt strimmer wire alot thicker than fishing wire though? or can you get some the same thickness as fishing wire?

you can get thinner stuff, yes its not as thin as some fishing line but its easier to obtain and has loads of uses.

cheers dude, i was just thinking of the uses as rudimentary stiching for wounds and for using as floss xD....only cases i can think of that thinner is better xD

also i just found that you can get strimming wire as small as 0.08mm buts its a bitch to get hold of from preliminary looks on the net

quick check indicates you can get fishing line for sod all on ebay

first one is braided and 0.08mm thick, and 4kg strength 99p per 100m, and the second one varies in thickness and strength, from 3.6kg at 0.08mm to 45kg at .55mm and costs 7.95 for 300m

wasnt thinking of strimmer wire for wound's but for fishing, snares, trip wire, garotte, bow string, cordage etc.etc.
