RE: dont understand
socialism is essentially a way of distributing the wealth of a country, or of the world, equally, so everyone gets the same size slice of the pie.

whereas capitalism is a system whereby the wealth of a country, or of the world, is distributed according to how you earn it, by buying and selling goods, so in theory how large a slice of pie you get, is down to how hard you work....unfortunately reality isnt as simple as that though!

(and the pie is money or materials goods btw)

in my eyes socialism is the ideal way of doing it, but it will never work, its a lost idea, but on the other hand capitalism is deeply flawed in its current iteration and gives rise to large gaps in economic and material wealth, irregardless of how hard you work Tongue

thats probably not the best explanation though Tongue
and that may be wrong, but its how i understand it Smile

Socialism tries to artificially re-dristribute weath evenly amongst a population.

Capatilism tends to result in wealth being accumulated more and more by a smaller and smaller 'rich' group.
If I have 'extra' wealth that I can invest and make more wealth from and you don't; then the difference between our wealth will increase.

At first glance Socialism seems like a fairer idea and I think it's a great way to run an ant farm but it's not a good idea for a species that has 'recreation' and 'work'. If I get the same reward whether I work or not, why would I work?
If everyone adopts that attitide no-one works and we all share starvation and poverty evenly.

Capitalism is the unequal sharing of wealth, but Socialism is the equal sharing of misery ( Winston Churchill)

No Sir, theoretically yes but as soon as you include humanity and its greed, immorality, nepotism and idleness to the equation Socialism ALWAYS fails.

You inevitably always end up with more people wanting a slice of the cake than there is adding ingrediants to the mix.

Capitalism is far from perfect but when compared with all the alternatives its still the best choice.

The ONLY place a mans wages should be is in his wage packet, not being stolen in taxation to waste on systems that same man will never use. Voluntary cooperatives can work so long as everyonev WANTS to contribute and knows what they will get out in return, but forcing people to pay for a lavish extravigant welfare system that only benefits others is corrupt, immoral and wrong.

there isnt a clear cut answer mate, lots of theoretical ideas and such...i dont think theres an easy way to sort the world out as it is, maybe after teotwawki we can rebuild in a perfect way (personally i have my own ideas of a perfect society) but i dont think we can really make any radical changes to our society as is Tongue
but i think everything boils down to not just a system, but down to beliefs, cultural ideas, heritage and all these other things that come together to form the basis of each of us, after all we have our opinions and suchlike and certain ideas, most of which are instilled by society, just like our language is

lol getting into this will end up in some very lengthy discussions about everything i think so im going to stop now before i start talking about the history of everything xD
