BP,

They both sound good to me. I'll be heading down there in a bit so I'll have a look at it in more detail.

Sounds interesting, one caveat guys, Check what sort of batteries they use, some use an odd battery only available from russia, others use very expensive types from specialist suppliers.

Bresser Night Vision 5x50

I believe it takes batteries CR 123. (Not confirmed)

Some people like the scope and do a lens mod to attach it to a rifle scope, I think drops the 5x to 1.?x

Some people think its crap.

Not showing on lidl for me, the spotting scope is there though.

BTW this is worth getting: Laminator, I tend to Laminat my files in case shtf, also the tesco value Laminating Pouches work well with this.

Sorry BP not meaning to hijack thread, but for us that have open fire or multi fuel lidl have set of tools for £20.

Unfortunately, I am unable to buy scopes as I cannot afford them. However, my priorities are to continue building up my food supplies, clothing, bedding and other necessities. Who knows, extra cash occassionally comes my way, so I can sometimes buy something extra. My priority in this line, is to fit a new butt to my Diana when I can find a suitable piece of timber.Kenneth Eames.

RE: Scopes.
Thanks guy's, i think for me a night scope does not warrant the expense, its something i MIGHT use after TSHTF but probably not before, similar with the spotting scope if i was taking up bird watching then maybe, i think i will invest in a new pair of binoculars instead.

a good spotting scope is good for covert op work if find it's better than binoculars

would need a good tripod for the scope, it only comes with a desk tripod and i think its a bit of a lump to hump about, no i think i'll stick to a good pair of binoculars-its what i'm used to.
