Thank you for the responses from everyone on here. Your experience is most helpful.
We have already collected half our 10,000 pellet storage target. These take up less than half a shoe box and weigh in at approx. 3kg. So just one shoe box worth of storage space will hold the entire stockpile that we are planning, and that stock could possibly support hunting for a 10 year period.
Some suppliers supplied the tins wrapped in cling film. This seems a very good and simple solution to keep the tins relatively air tight and waterproof. We have wrapped all of the tins individually in this way. For double security, we are thinking that a metal waterproof ammo box will be a good way to store these for the long term.
