Preppers potential worst enemy!
As preppers, it's hard to focus and maintain momentum in the right direction. I made a thread asking what was next on your shopping list. Who can honestly say they've held to that list?

Okay, back on track.

We all have our plans, prepping for ourselves or loved ones. We know our direction, our plan, and we stick to it.

Learning that new skill set is hard work, and your friend that promised to teach you keeps letting you down. Nick is such a.....well, you get the idea.

Meeting up with this guy who is just so unflexible. He keeps saying my plans are not realistic. What does he know, he's not in my situation!

You know that idiot on the forum who just grates at you? That fool don't know nutn! I pity da fool!

Damn everyone is so negative.....

Well, you know that idiot that won't ever consider other perspectives, doesn't chanhe their plan, or listen to other views and ideas? If not, then that person is probably you.

We are our own worst enemies. All headstrong, single minded, and set on one plan. What we all need to do is open our minds and realise that other people's ideas, perspectives, and knowledge, are worth listening to.

Not all information is worth acting on. But worth considering....? Definitely.

We are on this forum to help each other grow and develop our plans, as well as help create plans and ways to make those plans come true.

As preppers, pretty often, we are our own worse enemies!

I don't have a shopping list either.... I have this motto instead: "Buy it WHEN you see it"...its not good when you NEED it-you've got to get it before that!Tongue
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.

I had a sort of list when I started and stuck to it in the main, now I feel safer with what I have now, and I go in fads , for a month I concentrated on old hand tools for the garden and building and with those tools made other tools , that was good , when I go out shopping or out in general I always get something for my prepps and as BP says when you see it grab it ...if you can afford it that is, I will have a look in the second hand shops and the like, boot sales are good you can pick up some cool stuff for pennies, I see a lot of people on here changing or upgrading bows ,crossbows, air rifles okay I do not swap and change why cover old ground? if you get a fair quality to start with then learn how to use what you have and be satisfied with that, we all want the best but you have a lot of ground to cover with other stuff, that's why we all need lists...to cover the ground and not miss anything it could mean life or death

We dont have a lest and never had one,.. we both come up with ideas, talk about the pros and cons of the idea,..and if it turns into a pro for both of us, we do it/get it,....if possible

This covers most of us I agree but then there is the other side of the coin. Nobody makes a plan because they are too flexible. You have to be well off to be like that where your funding allows you to spend on everything. Not all of us are.

So sometime it is better to generate a plan, any plan, as long as it is basic and realistic. Then review it after 3 months when you have more experience and then formulate your plans. I've seen people do nothing for 6 months while they go round and round thinking about it.

If you start with basic stuffs like food water and medical stuff then whatever plan you do decide on will always have that as a base.
