American site, subject matter as above, says what we already knew but is interesting none the less. http://mikemarlow.com/2013/06/days-after/

BP, you nailed it! Anyone not in this for the long haul is doomed!
If at first you don't secede, try, try again!

yes agreed, I like the bit about being prepared for all events not just one or two.

A bit more 'mind-focusing', eh BP? Good one, though.

His point about any open or flowing water, with it being a primary requirement, is a good one. They will soon have anybody and everybody gravitating to them and once there, without the kind of discipline the forces teach, for example, they will quickly become both water source and sewage outlet!

Another thought to add to the many hundreds buzzing round my head and to the many more that haven't even entered it yet! Big Grin

Bp,

Animals foul their water all the time. It just doesn't kill them. We are basically the wimps of the animal kingdom. If it wasn't for our brains we would have died out long ago.

yes, any alien coming to this planet would think there is an "infestation" of humans!

and historically, after a disasterous event more people die from diseases resulting from unsanitary conditions, contaminated drinking water, than from the event itself. cholera, dissentery, etc.

I think a lot of that happens because all the survivors are thrown together in "rescue" camps and disease spreads quickly cos their all crammed in together......which is why I favour self emposed "quarantine" .
