I also heard that ''if'' any of the powder get into your blood stream then there is huge potenial for a life threatening blood clott to form.

glad you posted that - I've got a fair few sachets of the powder - seems less appealing the more I hear about it.

Time to sell those on and replace with the impregnated bandages instead I think...

It'd be just my luck I'd use it on myself, survive the initial injury then cop it from a blood clot. Rolleyes

I was doing a bit of online research a few weeks back and looking to get some quick clot/celox but in the end decided against both as the trauma bandages seem to be the way the US/UK forces are going and I'm sure they have far more idea than me as to what is best Wink

The US issue battle dressings are manufactured with Quik Clot Combat Gauze and do not rely on the powder alone. When I get back to my PC I will post some links to the current Z-Medica training for combat medics and first responders.

I have a stash of the impregnated bandages, only issue is the price. They're very expensive over here. Even the knock-off versions aren't cheap

They are expensive here also, but I was allowed to keep my medic bag when I retired, and the fire department renews any expired supplies when I complete annual refresher training, which is offered to Emergency Management reservists to keep their certifications current.

I have quick Clot, but after this I am thinking of changing over to those bandages, there does seem to be a lot of negatives with Quick Clot.

Does anyone have a link to the impregnated bandages so I can see what I need?

Arrhh I see Devonian put the links on,.. thanks

I can find out about a group buy to knock the price down for us if anyone wanted a decent stash? I have a contact in Israel for the IDF bandages (both sizes and types) also. And I think the bloke I used to buy off in the states can get my the combat application tourniquets too if anyone's interested? Far too expensive with customs etc to get a load for myself (unless I buy shit loads) but if a few are interested I'll get back in touch and see what I can sort out.
