as a trade unionist and dare I say it socialist I hate myself for preferring the tory option but to my mind it's currently the only viable one.

I do not understand this fear of change, if something isn't working then change it.

But it is working...granted not very well but it is working...just to big a gamble for me to take...I have three kids(four really but the eldest is 29 so he doesn't really count as a kid anymore)girl 16 boy 17 and another boy 18.....girl is off to Loughborough on a sports bursary younger boy has an apprenticeship with Harley Davidson and eldest boy is off to Cardiff conservatoire ... these really are the most crucial 5 years of their lives so rocking the political boat right now is a no no for me ... there's lots I'm not happy about with our current government but I/we can work round these issues , I basically want the tories to keep gently steering the ship away from the rocks shut the migrant floodgates , repatriate the wrongdoers , cheats , criminals and radicals and then cast Europe off and I would be happy with that for now.

Here I am agreeing with mo again ;-))

But yes the UK isn't broken, there are things that can be improved and made better and there always will be. If you want broken or not working, go to Argentina; Greece; Spain; Portugal etc...

There are very few countries that can rival what we have including:

- Education
- Employment
- Health Care
- Social Care/Welfare
- Standard of living
- Wealth
- Freedom of speech
- Security
-etc...

The problem with UKIP is that all they are doing is saying we will stop immigration and we will pull out of Europe, which are effectively one and same thing. There is no depth to their policies, no experience or knowledge within their leadership.

We all want out of Europe and people are believing that the only way out is through UKIP, but by voting for UKIP, unless they form a coalition with the Tories, then we will remain in Europe as Labour be the largest single party and will regain power, and that is not just a political scare story.

In general I don't have a big problem with what the Tories have done. I get annoyed when they talk about cutting "waste" when in fact they are cutting valuable services, but the fact is that we can't afford these services any more, so they have to go.

I believe we can have it hard now, or harder later. Most politicians seem to prefer the "later" option, as it secures them votes and a job.
