RE: Ebola
A returning health worker in Glasgow has been confirmed to be infected with Ebola
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-30628349

Interesting that they only flew in at 11.30pm last night and by 7.50am the following morning they were placed in an isolation unit!
That's one plane I wouldn't of wanted to be on as they must have clearly been in the infectious stage whilst travelling!

RE: Ebola
Apparently she was tested 7 times at Heathrow (6 at her own request) when she arrived in the UK from Africa, before being cleared to fly on to Glasgow in a plane with 70 other passengers. I wonder how many (or whose) heads will roll due to this stuff-up?

And apparently whilst waiting to be tested each time, she was crammed in a tiny room with multiple other people

RE: Ebola
call me an old cynic but I suspect she knew she was infected and chose to come home rather than stay in country and face almost certain death....I guess we will never know but I smell a rat.

RE: Ebola
So, let's see....... she didn't know how she got infected in the first place, which possibly means that the criteria for infection are faulty; she passed the temperature tests at the Airport, which could mean that the criteria for assessing potential infection could be faulty; she went all the way to Glasgow before being shipped back to London - hey, I'll bet those fellow travellers are happy! Finally, she's being cared for in isolation at immense public expense. Is it just my point of view...... why are we putting up with this??
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

RE: Ebola
yeah my best guess is a breached protocol or a piece of failed equipment....panic ensued and she legged it to where she stood a chance hence the trying to get herself admitted to hospital on arrival at Heathrow(really trying)knowing she was just minutes away from the centre for tropical diseases, this is terrible if she did suspect infection she should have fessed up straight away at Heathrow and not compounded the problem by travelling on.
