Who runs the country?

Not for one minute do i think that the elected members run the country. Is there someone else who actually pulls the strings the elected members are just mouth pieces for the ones that actually run the country OR is the whole world controlled by a few people?.

if your talking about this country, the so called leaders are under the beck and call firstly of their masters in Brussels, then big business, the oil lobby and the trades unions(in the case of Labour).
