hello just got a midlands cb and put up aerial on 20 foot scaffolding pole not getting any talking what am i doing wrong do i need to move the aerial thanks guys
just read alas Babylon ,so im going to get more salt!!!!

Have you tuned the aerial in with an SWR meter?, What frequency range and band is it

You need a SWR meter to transmit. If you transmit out of wave then it blows the transistors.

You should be able to recieve without any issues. Maybe nobody is transmitting.

Not many people use CB's and range is limited. Perhaps there isn't much chatter in your area?

I just have a couple of handheld transceivers I use when off roading. I only ever picked up anyone not in my group when on top of hills near large settlements.

I was just a kid in the 80s but they were good fun then. My older siblings had them... in their Mk1 Escorts, and Capris with faux-tiger-skin seat covers.

What's your handle good buddy?
