I was thinking of using it in my BOB as a lightweight emergency shelter rarther than a tent..

I used one for years Phil as a Basha in the army, as a rest place when hunting as a civvy and as a Bug Out expediant shelter as a survivalist. Bloody excellent piece of kit for folks young enough and fit enough to still sleep on the deck. Though most of us squaddies got rid of the white nylon cord and replaced it with green propper paracord. Good bit of kit. Toy can make it more secure and stable in inclement weather by adding some elasticared shock cord or bungies to your basha kit as sometime a bit of eleastic pulling on a basha can stabilise it better than cord.
