RE: Map of UK's strategic nuclear targets
we need to gtfo to wales lol
nice job getting augusta westlands and gkn aerospace ^^
also a suggestion, remove the text, put numbers in the circles, then a key saying what the numbers are, it'll keep it alot tidier :~)
also different size circles, colour coded to 3 stages, like instant vaporisation, heavy irradiation etc, showing distances of effects

RE: Map of UK's strategic nuclear targets
A lot of effort went into this map.
Nice job.
Please add a target ring round Aberystwyth though.
There used to be a salmonella factory there aka "Rumble Tums Cafe" that needs totally nuking out of existence.

The Nuclear Submarine comms base north of Penrith is missing
Otterburn Camp and Asembly Area
Tyne Docks Military shipment facility
Warminster Infantry school, tank training and assembly area and region army HQ I think
Dover Castle super regional bunker
Warcop Camp tank training and assembly area
That place under a elsh Quarry thats a super bunker like Corsham

Form a nuclear free zone committee, thats what the socialists did in Barnsley and Middlesbrough to stop the radiation from reaching its komrades

RE: Map of UK's strategic nuclear targets
Yeti, I think the big ammo plant at Birtley has been rebuilt and expanded to make 5.56, 25mm and 30 mm plus tank ammo for the army
Plus there is a mint in Washington, a regional bunker on Tyneside. Otterburn training area. The docks at Tyneside and Teesside, Hartlepool nuclear power station, Druridge bay !!!, The oil refinery on the Tees, Tyne and Tees railway marshalling yards. Catterick garrison, Otterburn Training area, Fylingdales Radar station, Menwith Hill Yank base near Harrowgate, the Submarine radio station north of Penrith. Three regional airports with a military role. I think the Tank factory on Scotswood road just got its closure notice.
I will add that I think the risk is far higher from Islamic extremists, anarchists and socialists, Trade union militancy and social collapse than it is from a nuclear attack.
No one has anything to gain from nuking places cos it leaves them toxic for millenia.
Of course the Geordie National Anthem will have to change to
" The radioactive fog on the tyne is mine all mine"

RE: Map of UK's strategic nuclear targets
I live near the port of tyne and have worked at one of there sites. Security is relaxed or it used to be. Not much visable but that doesnt mean your not being watched. Im in the same boat as you with the exteamists. The ira tried to blow up the gas station at howdon, me mams neighbour got nickwd for making stuff years ago. Guy survived a hit on him for being a grass in whitley bay but I think its giing to be less paddy and more abdul in the future.

RE: Map of UK's strategic nuclear targets
I forgot you have a petrol distribution center up there as well doncha, the IRA went after that once, but overall in this region the greatest threat is major civil unrest caused by poverty and dissent place racial issues. Most jobs up here are now public sector jobs, we dont make anything any more, so with this recession the jobs in the public sector are going. This just adds to the fact that this is already one of the poorest parts of Europe. 2.4 million northerners trying to live of an economy that will only systain 500,000. I was in Jarrow and South shield the other week, it was never a rich area but there was work, and pay and the locals were quietly dignified at getting on with life. But now you see degredation and desperation that has not been seen since the Jarrow march, and that scares me.
If the Geordies, Mackems and Smoggies find a figure to rally behind, a leader who is a statesmen and agressive I can see massive trouble brewing.
