Stupid Government!!!
Hi
Im sorry in advance for the rant but im just so bummed right now, I have worked as a civil servant for nearly 4 years and have a disability which means i cant drive very far and when i put in a transfer originally my boss (who was a proper cow) did everything she could to ensure that i didnt get it whilst they were actually moving internally and by the time i got moved onto a different section in the same building, and my transfer was approved, internal transfers were just not happening. so i applied to uni and was accepted though if my transfer had gone through i would have returned to work and so when they said that my case was being sent to the dms ie being fired for being off sick, i thought well thats the choice made and started uni. financially it would have been a struggle but at least i knew where i stood!!!
Then i got a fone call after my 2nd week at uni saying they were not sending my case to the dms and were in fact getting my transfer pushed through but my pay again isnt sorted cos every department gives different info depending on who is spoken to and when i had a look at my payslip to see how much our payrise (and i use the term very loosely) was, especially when you consider how much everything has gone up, iv found that my pay went up 9p an hour which is only actually £14.48ish a month, i have since been told that we got a 1% payrise, i bet the pm and all the other top knobs got way more than that!!!!
What makes all this worse is that due to an error my old boss made, i got into financial difficulties and am now in way more debt than i should have been and now just feel like im just never gonna have enough to put away for my kids. i have to rob peter AND paul just to put food on the table for my kids most weeks, iv got some food put away and im trying to get other things but i have to do without stuff all the time in order to do so and the only time i get new clothes etc is from my mam and even then they are always on special or second hand, never full price.....
Sorry for my rant, i just feel really shitty just now and really lonely..
Thanks for readiing

Technically thats not capitalism. Capitalism is about free trade, low taxes, the government staying out of business regulation, and the ability to transfer from poor to rich, or vice versa.

Because the government is the one with the wealth and controlling the majority of the financial system, it's actually socialism. Things like this simple misunderstanding and the distortion of principles, makes people believe that capitalism is the problem. It's not. We do not live in a pure capitalistic world any more. Anyone that says we do, has never read The Wealth of Nations, or any other book on the basic principles of capitalism.

This is socialism with a hint of Marxism where the ruling class is the government, and a small hint of highly restricted and legislates....oh and highly taxed....."open" trade.

Keep it up Madgirl. You'll be okay. It's things like this that we prep for. Uni will be a good break from the 'system'. However, it's also a social mechanism to direct people's thoughts down a very specific path. It curbs creativity and forces people to stand on the state once they leave. Having said that, it's a great way to get in extra reading and meet loads of great cool people that can become great friends!!!

Erm "worked as a civil servant for nearly 4 years" Civil servant and work !!!!! Oxymoron Smile

My wifes bosses told her she had to get a masters degree and a teaching qualification to stay in the role SHE created. She did so, it cos her thousands, not only has she not had a wage rise since 2009 , but before that under Labours agenda for change they CUT her pay by £300 a month. And now they expect her to do oncall for a week at a time for £140.

Stick in at college and get the education you need to get a proper career outside the public sector.
I want my missus to get out of the NHS and go work in the private sector then she cant whinge when I say the NHS should be privatised and the welfare system scrapped.

Thats not what he said at all.

Capitalism is not fair, but its better than any alternative, if you dont like the wages or the job then set yourself up in business. What should never be allowed is one part of society expecting any other part of society to keep it or subsidise it.
Both Millibands are rich, as is Prescott, Darling, Reid, Blair is a multi millionaire, Most trade union leaders take home far more than £100K a year and often live rent free for live in grace and favour houses like Scargill is. I have yet to see one rich socialist offer to redistribute THEIR own wealth to the plebs. Yet Bill Gates and the bulk of the richest capitalists in the world are giving away BILLIONS of their earnings. Only tonight some rich arab dude has given £400 million to the people of Gaza. No one forces anyone to have kids it is their sole choice and its also their sole responsibility the state should NEVER be required to give out money to people to feed their kids because that money has to come from other tax payers and that means its taking the food from other peoples mouths.

You say Capitalism is keeping the poor people down, YET it was and still is British Trade unions who opened offices in poland, estonia and latvia to encourage them to come to the UK living 30 people to a house to undercut the British low paid workers.

Madgirl has the right idea, go through university and get better educated and beat the rich well educated capitalists at their own game.

RE: Stupid Government!!!
If I didn't have the kids then I would stick with uni, as it stands I'm having to defer for a year to try to sort out the mess my money's in, my plan a was to do the uni course then get a job and shift, plan b is to get a transfer in a year or 2 to the north of Scotland and move up there, and plan c is still under consideration lol
And nr, I'm one of those rare civil servants who get into bother for being too helpful lol
I'm not sure whether our government is socialist or capitalist or wot and to be honest I'm just not bothered, if any of our leaders or politicians bothered there arses to actually open their eyes and really look at our country, they would know that our system and all the 'modern' ways of ruling are just pants and blatantly not working and a complete overhaul is required but they won't do it cos that would mean admitting they are wrong and no offense here fellows but most men appear to be incapable of admitting they got something wrong and so like all the other civilisations we will be our own downfall!!!
Metroyeti, I wasn't worried about the loans and stuff to pay back, it's just the mortgage and feeding the kids that I was worried about, single parenthood is pants!!!
