Exactly what I do Paul, heat shrink! Often 1:1 SWR. I have a few of these already strung up in trees that are left there ready and waiting for when I want to hook up! Of course the plug is cunningly sealed into a tiny plastic tub to keep it dry!

You can't have too many antennas can you? !!!
LS, I'm emailing you a plan for a similar antenna but even easier than the Bazooka, it's a 5'8wave at 2.75m there or there abouts. i can't seem to get the plan to load on here directly! Maybe you can forward it to NR or work some magic and post it here?
