Britains debt time bomb

RE: Britains debt time bomb
Shit, just lost a two page reply to PD Grrrrrr

I'm not going to retype the whole thing but basically PD your being naeive, the rich bankers will do anything to control the land and the nations wealth, so as in EIRE where they have a massive homeless problem you also see entire new build estates left empty.
In SPAIN towns where over 50% of the citizens have been repossessed, Historically government will pay troops, cops and bailiffs with food, fuel, booze or a percentage of what ever peoperties they seize. Just as in the UK in the 19th century local militias of local men would actually open foire on their own townsfolk if the Riot Act was read out you will find today Bailiffs, Cops and Soldiers who will do the states will for cash, gold, food, fuel or a free house. In Southern Spain there are entire resorts of hundreds of homes and shops etc laying empty in the same region where hundreds of repoed families live on the streets.

The nation is controlled by a ruling elite of politicians whose friends, associates, and family members are bankers, major land owners, speculators and land lords, They are never going to relinquish their money, propery or control no matter how bad things will get.

If you think the elite will stop paying those who keep them in power instead of cutting pensions or benefits your sadly mistaken.

As I have already reported in great depth you can see they are already moving into gated secure communities, rural self contained estates ( along with bodyguards and their families), building Iceberg homes and properies in places like the Channel Islands and Windys.

This is just history repeating itself AGAIN, the socialists and corrupt rich have buggered up europe they way they buggered up the Soviet Union.

From what you are saying though I have the feeling we are all rubber ducked if this is the case? Only the elite and their families will survive? You can bug out as much as you like but if they are going to go around taking land and property, you will be found?

depends by how much the whole thing goes" pear shaped" and how many people are left, it could be that TPTB dont have enough people left to actually evict ANYONE!
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.

Here is a senario...I am someone sent from where ever to evict you from your property, I am a smoker but haven't been able to buy cigs for 2 days as there are none...I'm desperate, rattling, agitated, shaking and craving like hell, I go to your door try to turf you out, you offer me some barter stuff instead as you have no money, I will take a pack of 20 cigs from you and tell my boss some excuse to why I couldn't get you out, Maybe you had a big doggie or a gun or your house was all boarded up and secured and I couldn't gain access...There problem sorted for another few weeks, You could offer me a massive chunk of gold but I REALLY, REALLY need a cig...

Same scenario, I evict you, then reclaim your goods to pay what you owe, as a bailiff would do. I do my job, get paid, and get your cigarettes.
The sad fact, is that regardless of how bad the depression hits, it won't be the only depression ever (check history) and it won't be the last one either.

Money will still be coveted. People will still trade. There will still be an economy. It just so happens, that those unable to afford stuff will be screwed faster than those who are able to afford it.

The idea of silver is to have it increase in value, then sell it when you need the cash.....to pay bills, taxes, etc. You don't go "Alright mate, I know you're here to evict me and reclaim my goods, but I've got a load of silver........" It doesn't matter to the person kicking you out. They'll be paid, and will probably steal any extra they think they should have been paid. Sucks to be on the wrong side of the equation.

Money won't disappear (sorry BP, but you know it's true). Countries that go bankrupt, ALWAYS find a currency to work with. If money was that bad, would people use it right now? DAMN RIGHT THEY WOULD!!! And we all do. There is the odd labour transaction. But you can't walk into Asda and say to the manager, I'll reshingle your roof if you let me have 12 tins of beans, a dozen eggs, 3kg of sugar, etc....

Go look at Germany and how the East side collapsed. Look at how they recovered. Look at what's going on in Zimbabwe....starving billionaires (no joke, their currency is that highly inflated!!!). Just googled 'Starving Billionaires" and came across an article I read a little while back. Thought you might want to enjoy a quick read. http://goldsilver.com/article/a-lesson-f...lionaires/
ENJOY!!!

Oh, and by the way, even though the article talks about FIAT currency, guess what we're enjoying.........FIAT currency.

The last one is for one simple reason......when the most successful investor EVER, who personally makes more money than MANY countries (yes his GDP is greater than around 15 countries) it's probably about time to pay attention to what he's doing. Before any of you start to hate on him, if he knows what to do, why should he be punished for it? It's like you being punished for storing food. If you think he should share all his wealth (please note, he has actually given it all to a research fund to cure disease) then why not share your wealth of food and the alike? You shouldn't be punished or victimised for storing your food up, and anyone doing so is a wolf in society. He shouldn't be victimised for knowing how money works, and anyone doing so is also a wolf of society.

Hells bells I'm not trying to put anyone in their place, I have no right to, I'm just trying to point out that historically and currently theres always plenty of people (usually in a police uniform or with some badge) who will betray the greater community in order to secure some trinkets or baubles from the rich ruling elite.

There will also be people willing to throw millions onto the streets NOW, because they are loooking long term for when the depression ends because they want to come out of it as rich and powerful as they were going into it.

Now this can be the usual suspects rich bankers, land owners and politicians, but also cops and soldiers with an eye to power and promotion, and Trade Union leaders looking to get the sheeple to fund their lavish lifestyle.

No Mon Ami, The elite will survive and continue to thrive in their enclaves, the preppers, survivalists , smallholders and off gridders will also survive and hopefully thrive. The 60,000,000 sheeple are screwed because all they have to look forward to is misery, repression and debt.

NR, you've forgotten the enterprising few that are pushing to move up into the rich group. There are some that manage that without crushing all those below them.

The idea that gold and silver will save you is absurd as having a load of rice and beans. The only thing that is going to be of any use is having some land now that you can hold onto in the future.

As for inflation and the price of gold, gold is only expensive because people want it. I look forward to selling you a potato for an ounce of gold and a lot of your tears.
Edit: and having knowledge and skills - you will not be able to develop them once their need is vital.

Sorry mate, but we have a total agreement here...except looking forward to your stud transaction haha.

Precious metals are only a hedge against inflation. When inflation increases, people's desire for precious metals increases. When it gets to a certain level.....sell the precious metals and use the money to buy stuff....like your potatos.....or land, or to pay down mortgage/rent/bills.

I hate the perspective of either-or. I think it's the biggest blinder on earth! If I have precious metals, what's to say that I don't also have land? However, having just land is as insane as having just precious metals!!! You can't pay taxes with handfuls of dirt or potatos. Like the precious metals, they are to be used as a transaction system, which is used to pay things like taxes, etc.

A tin of beans won't pay your bills. An ounce of gold doesn't taste nice. But used properly, both are useful. Beans to eat, gold to increase in value and then exchange for cash to pay bills. Same as land alone is useless. You need seeds to sow and the alike.

Saying about having land you can hold onto in the future is only something you can hold onto, if you can pay land taxes. Guess where precious metals come into the system........? Land alone is useless without seeds, and the financial ability to pay the taxes levied on that land by TPTB. However, ALL land can be reclaimed by royal declaration.

Investing in land is wise. Investing in precious metals is wise. Investing in food is wise. [add infinitum].

The idea that having precious metals means you can't develop skills, knowledge, experience, and the alike, is just ridiculous!!! Same with having one means you can't have another. You can own land, and have precious metals, and own your own home, and learn skills, and farm, and grow produce, and collect water, and sell a potato for an ounce of gold and a load of tears (potato's will never cost as much as gold!!! But it's a cute idea).

It's like a previous discussion I had about health and fitness. People were saying that health and fitness won't keep me alive and they'd be going around all stealth, which would keep them alive. Who says being fit and healthy means you can't also be stealth? HAHA, it's an absurd thought, right?

Why can't you have your cake and eat it? That's the kind of mentality that suggests a lack of imagination. I can be healthy, stealthy, wealthy, country-farmy, and happy.

I'll sell you some chillies to flavour your potato's if you'd like? WHAT? Don't you want chillies in exchange? WHAT?!?!? You'd rather have money that you can use to pay your taxes/bills/rent/mortgage?!?!?! Of course I can buy those from you. I'll just exchange this ounce of precious metal for money, and use that to buy those spuds off you.

It works both ways.

SD always says about prepping for all things. It's about being squared away. I prep to be ready for a lack of food, water, money, health, and the rest of what I can deal with. Does that mean having land? Yes. Does it mean access to water? Yes. Does it mean a buffer of food? Yes. Does it mean a buffer of money? Yes. The money bit is where precious metals comes into play.

Scythe,

Not knowing what is going to happen means that you may be right but imo and it is my opinion the last thing I need in my preps in gold or silver. I can live off everything else. I may not be able to exchange my gold or silver for anything worthwhile when I need to.

Have some gold and silver by all eans but make sure you have everything else you talk about put aside first.
