I DIDNT say it wont happen in the countryside but its more of a city weapon, like during the riots. if i've gone to my BOL's they've got to find me first, all 3 are well hidden.

excellent...a lot of preppers think they're going to be farming the land after shtf.
Even a mild dose of shtf will send sheeples running for somebody to look after them, and or steal their food. theft will be of big concern, if its not nailed down as they say....

This is my first post, but i was wondering what plans the goverment have for these situations?
I mean will the police or army be patroling the streets with a curfew in place making the idea of leaving in darkness or otherwise out of the question? with maybe a shoot on site policy?
I would think that they would want us all where they can control us.

Hello BJM basic short answer YES the army TA and cops will be on the streets uin any circumstances to enforce curfews etc, BUT they dont have enough people to do everything IE close and keep closed all A oads, B Roads, Motorways etc , Keep military priority routes open, control food distribution centers and hospitals, control transit , power and utilities, This unfortunately equattes to far more pressure being applied to over stretched cops and troops which will inevitably lead to them opening fire to keep control, where as if they had sufficient people a baton charge would probably have done. Look at it this way last August ethnic gangs numbering a few hundred strong went on the rampage in Tottenham and 5 other London boroughs, and 32,000 metropolitan cops could do little or nothing for over 3 days cept hide or take photographs.

Of course any modern socialist leaning state wants control over its sheeple, thats why not only are the government encouraging everyone to move into the cities but they are also consolidating most of the public services, food distrinution systems etc in the cities, whilst driving the sheeple onto easily controlled public transport systems. If you coral all your critters they are easier to feed and water and keep under control. That is why most switched on prepper families are putting as many miles as they can tween cities and where they live.

In the event of a sudden collapse, I want to have enough supplies for me and ideally others at a "Rawlesian retreat" to live with a low profile for two years. That way we can wait for exposure, disease, fighting and starvation to reduce the population. During those two years, there would be no farming, maybe applying mulch and other preparation for growing food, as well as keeping livestock populations down to minimal breeding stock.

In the event of a protracted, drawn out collapse, I would have food and other preps cached, so I don't stand out as being prepared, keeping only a minimum on display. I would also have a tragic boating accident if things ever got Orwellian. "Oh, woe is me Commandant! If only I hadn't taken all my firearms and reference books on my boat out into the swamp! Opsec is crucial, as the tabloids would probably start demonizing "Hoarders" in the same way they do benefit cheaters.
