I used to shoot, and belonged to a local club... but I shot handguns, so you know how that story ends.
After the ban I stuck to air rifles in a sulk.
I keep getting tempted again, particularly for a SGC, but I'm unsure I want to be on the list. When I was a bouncer, I soon learnt that I need to train very hard in martial arts, but have no record of training in them. At the time if you were a black belt at anything 'reasonable force' became very skewed. in the eyes of the law.
The trouble is, you can train your body on the quiet, but you can't get a gun without being on a list. Although, I don't actually do anything wrong, I'm not the shooting intruder type, so I'm not entirely sure what I'm afraid of being on a list for?
I also have nowhere to use a shotgun... where do other people use them?
note: by 'not the shooting intruder type', I don't mean I'm a hippy... I just prefer the hands on approach. That way you remain the hero and they remain the criminal. I don't recommend this approach to everyone though... it's usually just kids,or 9 stone junkies but it still comes with risks.

Tonight was the first time firing anything more powerful than a 22 air rifle / paintball gun. Great fun. Going back next week to join up and shoot some more
Do you have anywhere good you are planning to use the shotgun?
