I know that our septic tank will not need emptying for another twenty years, it was only emptied ten years ago, most good tanks last for about 30 yrs if they are working as they should be,..ours is an old fashioned brick one,... they don't make um like they used to

Mortblanc,... In a way, I can see the sense in going directly above the tank,... providing that you are not completely out in the open,... but you would certainly need a good gas mask

Anyone who is on a septic tank should be able to continue as if no emergency has happened, providing you can get the water to flush,.. Scotland has enough rain for this, other places might not be so lucky
