Berkefeld Question

Berkefeld Question
OK so we have our Berkefeld and spare candles ordered and are looking forward to getting the thing working.

A question for anyone already using one of these filters: Our expected current use of the filter will be occasional, as opposed to continuous. Is it OK for the filter candles to repeatedly dry out between usage, or will this affect their operational life?

Any advice from current users will be appreciated.

Cheers

RE: Berkefeld Question
It'll be fine. If you are going to use the on an intermittent basis then you could use the dry spells to clean the filters.

Thanks SD,

That's good reassurance.

At the retreat we have a reliable source of water from the well, in as much that we can always draw it, but I'm not certain about the quality of that water so we are prepping to always pass well water through the filter before consuming.

Until we are in a situation where mains water is cut off the filter will just be kept on stand-by, hence the question about drying out issues.
