Puncture proof tyres for your machine
This English company has a very good reputation for producing puncture proof microcelular tyre for bikes and specialist vehicles, If your planning on using a bicycle as a BOV you may wish to invest in a set of tyres that wont let your down.

This looks a good idea. I was looking for some for my car.

Puncturesafe is a good half way measure. I have it in the car and van. It has none of the problems associated with the old style gloopy stuff. It is that good that you have to periodically check your tyres for nails etc as the fluid repairs any punctures instantly and you would never know if your tyre was damaged

At the mo you are limited to Puncture safe liquid or run flat tyres, I dont think cars can get em yet, at least not cheaply.

I remember reading many years ago of the German retreat near the end of the war, when the German soldiers were using rope that they made from straw, to put inside of their punctured tyres. Apparently it was quite sucsessful and they were able to travel at a reasonable speed. Maybe, something to consider if you are unable to buy tires for your vehicles. Kenneth Eames.

Interesting. It must be worth a try if things are that bad.

We were taught in the boy scouts years ago that if we got a puncture we could pack the inside of the tyre with straw and grass and it would get us home.

Strange I never got that one when I was in the Scouts. Maybe we didn't have enough bikes around or something. From what I remember we either walked or got lifts.

Isn't It remarkable the things you learn on a site like this. I read about the straw rope for filling the tyres of vehicles by the Germans and NR comes up with the same idea when in the Boy Scouts. This site has taught me a great deal and from what I can see written in these posts, many others are gaining a lot of knowledge as well. Keep it going we can all learn a great deal more. I also learned from some extreme mountain bikers you can cache a remarkable amount of survival kit in the tubes and frames of a mountain bike.
