RE: knives
I have very limited tools in my chest, going for good quality rather than buying for the sake of it,... so all I have are three ordinary folding uk legal penknives, and two fixed blades
I do have other tools like an axe`s, both long and short and my old Army Machete for the fire sticks

RE: knives
I thinned my collection out, still own a few esees as I view these as the AK of the knife world, cheap and built like tanks.
If the world was to go Tits up,knives are an extremely useful bartering commodity

RE: knives
For the kitchen Global stainless knives and Kyocera ceramics, for general outside utility Frosts Mora in carbon steel and Morakniv Craftline in stainless. Pocket knife is a S&W badged "Homeland Security" model, which came with a mixed bag of shooting bits and surprised me by taking and holding a good edge.
My silly buy is a SOG Revolver - the blade pivots into the handle to turn it into a log / bone saw. It was used and cheap, but in hindsight not a very sensible option as it wouldn't be tough enough to take abuse.
I have a couple of budget Cold Steel kukri machetes, the shorter one is well balanced and works well in the woods, the longer one just feels wrong and I don't use it. Both needed a lot of work to get a decent edge shape but are good steel and hold it well.
There is only one knife on my shopping list, it would accompany the Mora in a bug-out, and that's a Ka-Bar USMC model:

Really?
You don't have enough time and neither do I.
I still have one pocket knife I bought in 1962!
I still have two I carried in SE Asia.
Then I found Moras!
