most of the old rail tracks down here are now cycle paths, good surface on some of them, rough on others, its a way of getting off road though and quietly.

with a decent set of boltcrops or lock picks, you could get a vehicle down these cycle paths, off road and out of sight.

most padlocks on the cycle paths can be opened with a "radar" key, the same one used for disabled only toilets. The idea is to allow people in wheelchairs, or similar to gain access to the cycle paths.
These can be bought online, via amazon, or just copied at a locksmiths. Also look into getting a set of "fire brigade" keys, handy for general access issues.

Canals and railways are already on my maps. There are a few that are not in this area but they are all in the industrial estates and have links to the main lines so in theory they should still be useable.

Beeching...remember him?..closed most of the branch lines down here, there is the Liskeard to Looe line still operating, mainly used for tourists in the summer, and the TARKA line from Barnstaple to Exeter which all the commuters use, neither of which are anywhere near me, the nearest canal is in Tiverton..again miles away and its just been repaired after it breached a whopping great hole after all the flooding.
