Who to call, where, and when?

It has gotten insanely over complicated in my honest opinion and theres no disrespect meant to the masses of hard work done by LS TLN Paul etc, we owe them a great debt for their efforts.

I dont want to restart the same debate again that would be disrespectful and unfair on the tech guys efforts.

I have concluded for my own groups radio coms to operate it as a closed circuit system regardless of whatever radios/ frequencies / bands etc we settle on, IE Each person will have a list of callsigns IE Northern Raider, Mrs NR, Spoilt Brat etc and we will only respond to those call signs assigned within our small group. Most ordinary people becoming preppers want a radio not radios, one band range and nothing else time after time I have pleaded the case ( yes I'm a little pleader ) for a simple bare bones system that ordinary people can puck up and use reliably and simply, but the enthuisiastic hobbyists go OTT every time.
