Flash Flooding
Recently working at Leeds festival when had sun baked ground and experienced a months worth of rain resulting in flash flooding lots of public camping was under four feet of water. My question how would you manage[/quote][/php][/size]

I'm considering what it would mean in my area. An area that is generally waterlogged I've been looking at installing raised beds.
I'm not unduly concerned about anything else getting caught up in a flash flood.

This picture was from the public campsite. Imagine being out for the day with your kids and you got caught out. I live within eye shot of the tor the 361 was blocked for about 8 wks the hunt spill flooded badly

yes, happened quite a lot when we lived there. we lived on Windmill hill for 10 years.

there was a Tsunami in medieval times, it came right up to the High Street, if you look carefully near the King Arthur pub you can still see the tide marks!

Glastonbury is one of seven islands that existed before that area was drained and will be again when the sea level rises. if you go onto the environmental agency website: environment-agency.gov.uk they have a map of Glastonbury under "Risk of flooding from rivers and sea"....most of that area excluding the town and Tor would be under water. you can also see other areas risk of flooding too.
