RE: Flash Flooding
another reason why I left Glastonbury, the Levels are often under water!!Big GrinBig Grin

try not to live on a floodplain, in a valley or near a river.

RE: Flash Flooding
I'm considering what it would mean in my area. An area that is generally waterlogged I've been looking at installing raised beds.

I'm not unduly concerned about anything else getting caught up in a flash flood.

RE: Flash Flooding
there was a Tsunami in medieval times, it came right up to the High Street, if you look carefully near the King Arthur pub you can still see the tide marks!

RE: Flash Flooding
Glastonbury is one of seven islands that existed before that area was drained and will be again when the sea level rises. if you go onto the environmental agency website: environment-agency.gov.uk they have a map of Glastonbury under "Risk of flooding from rivers and sea"....most of that area excluding the town and Tor would be under water. you can also see other areas risk of flooding too.

RE: Flash Flooding
We had bad flash floods to the west of us here in Texas last week. That's why we have ALWAYS lived on a hill.
If at first you don't secede, try, try again!
