STEP 7: PLACE THE HOT JAR NOW FILLED WITH BUTTER UPSIDE DOWN INTO BOILING WATER FOR A FEW MINS.

STEP8 SHAKE THE JAR ON AND OFF FOR AN HOUR OR TWO AFTER ALL ABOVE IS DONE, I WOULD SUGGEST YOU DO MORE THEN ONE JAR AT A TIME, IT IS NOT SLOWER DOING 6 OR 12 THEN IT IS DOING JUST ONE.

Damn good informative post, very useful. Any way you could slightly resize the images a touch smaller please, Its easier on my printer ink when they are slightly less large Smile
NR
Question, We have some jars and lids that are ideal for doing this, they come with wax discs that go on the top to act as some sort of seal, do we use them on butter ??

I never use the wax lids on butter is about the best I can offer, this is not my field but it is something I do, I would have to leave that up to you NR if you should or should not use them, but I would say do both with and without, and in a years time open both and let us know.

I do use plumbers tape and will show you how and why when I update this thread.

Yes the jar lid is very tight, it is important that we do this last boil as mould can grow under lid, although outside and quite harmless as in it won’t be in contact with the food in jar but it is still not a nice sight.

The video is done and ready to upload to YouTube but I will have to wait for off-peak and I think it will take 3 hours to upload, but I will link it here some time tomorrow.

That just might be my first canning experience you made it look so easy! I'll give that a go.
I'm going to try baking with Ghee, I know you can but I've tasted it?
