the 3 ultimate survival foods are, Peanut Butter, Tinned corned beef and Christmas Pudding(this is on offer NOW at Tesco's 454grams or 1LB in old money...98P each) Christmas pudding MATURES with age, we have eaten them 5 YEARS over dated!!

Also I would add that a bottle of Harveys Bristol Cream could last a very long time (except if it is in the Song household !!)

Interesting post Jonas.
B.P. Out of interest how long would you expect peanut butter to last? I would have thought being made with butter it would go rancid.

there is NO butter in it Karidan, there's oil in it but no butter, we've got one in the kitchen dated 7/2014 and wife would be happy to eat it at least 2 years over dated.

How often do you check your food prepps ? ...checked my Tinned food today...something giving off a smell....and yet again......the tinned fruit ...and some tinned tomato,s were to blame.....checked back about six months ago ....the same results then .....i am now going to check every two months....rice pasta, seem fine in their packets ...inside a plastic dust bin .....how are you finding things ?
