I don't know what a small used travel trailer costs in the UK, but here in Texas, you can pick one up for about $2,500 - $5,000. I don't know if the average car in the UK can tow a small travel trailer. Here in Texas, where the pick-up truck is very common, even a small 1/4 ton model with a 6 cylinder engine can tow one. If you own a small travel trailer and a vehicle to tow it (all paid for and currently licensed), plus a friend with a little land, you'll never be "homeless".
