Im with River here. I regularly clear my credit card at the moment, same as BP only used for online purchases. If TSHTF and places still accept credit cards, doesnt it make sense to use those and save your stored cash for when plastic is no longer accepted?
Beardy im not sure clearing your card weekly makes any difference. I have in the past used credit reference agencies. Your credit report shows a monthly breakdown with a 1 showing paid on time, 2 shows a late payment and 3 shows a non payment. (or the other way rouund, cant remember exactly now). As such paying weeekly still means you only get a 1 at the end of the month for having paid the minimum requested on time.
