The majority of pet male rabbits that escape their 'homes' in the UK end up dead pretty quickly. Not because they cannot adapt, but because the other wild rabbits see them as a territory threat and kill them. If there were very few other rabbits around, that's when it would be easier to introduce male rabbits into the area.

Female rabbits, on the other hand...very different. They will become baby factories!
