So many things I read are American and bushcraft / wilderness related which just doesn't cut it here in the Uk. It's why I joined a UK forum. Useful advice like 'just get out of urban areas' is a lot harder this side of the pond. Bugging in is the new bugging out, and as far as I can tell most preppers are at least semi-urban and staying put. The chances of me getting my family 200+miles away to a safer location post SHTF is unlikely to down right dangerous.

I've been on the forum less than a month but enjoying it and learning lots. Plan on staying around (and on the forum too!)

The truth is SUF that there is not a great deal of hands on long term experience of Urban survivalism as it relates to UK.

NR has recently started to get the ball rolling on discussions about this side of things, but he's a died in the wool Rural guy and its probably quite an uphill task for him to stay enthusiastically in the driving seat on Urban survival issues.

Best bet would be for actual Urban dwellers, who can't entertain rural escapes for what ever reason, to start threads, describing challenges and looking for discussion for suitable solutions. That way those with rural knowledge can offer solutions that might or might not suite, but which may stimulate thoughts on solutions that will.

Perhaps SD can create a Urban section on here so that everything related can be kept in one place?
