I completely agree with you on this Binnie.

Its impossible to know everything about everything. We need strong knowledge n some areas and good foundation knowledge in others.

Mortblanc is also right, people who think they do not need to learn stuff and that they can adapt to whatever challenge confronts them will fail sooner or later.

A decent basic skill set is key. The more advanced and the broader reaching the skill set the greater chance of success.
