I've had people take one look at me and go the other way, one person tried to crash through a shop window to avoid me and I hadnt said one word and was minding my own business, I've even seen off potential attackers by folding my arms and standing still and not speaking, its all in the attitude.
of course you have to be aware of what is going on around you and many arent.
Some people that prefer to be alone arent anti-social they just have no time for drama, stupidity and false people.
