RE: Derbyshire Dont Drink The Water
After a quick look for water threads re finding it, making it safe to drink etc ,etc and not finding anything in a comprehensive easy access form I was wondering if perhaps i should try to write up and share my basic lesson plans of how to find a drink and stay alive using what you might have available in an emergency in a temperate or cold environment ( i know a bit about desert and marine issues but others know far more )
it is one of my specialist subjects for lectures ,no one has died yet even if i have had them hydrating from drains and worse or apparently far better.
when i was first asked by a chum if i could teach some of my bushcraft to his students i looked for the "gap in the market" and was quite surprised that water was a subject that many overlook as student or teacher which seems daft as a few days without water or one good drink of dodgy water is game over.

if there is good ,comprehensive, well collated info here it will save me some effort but if not im happy to try to share what i know .

as a newbie it is difficult to find what is probably easy to find once one has found it.
is there good water education somewhere?.

my feeling about water is thirsty folk will chew their own ( or my ) veins for a drink and if im well hydrated and not crippled with dysentery, poisoned or brain damaged by chemicals i might be able to outrun ,hide from or help them.

We have covered in great depth issues such as STORING water and FILTERING water in DOMESTIC situations but I dont think much has been done on FINDING IT, So if you have wisdom to share please post.
