The drought is over and the reservoirs are bursting at the seams. They will be lucky to survive the flooding that will come with the spring thaw.

The California drought was mostly political anyway. The eco-terrorists had stopped the flow of water from the Colorado river to California to insure the survival of some kind of minnow. California was built and dependent on water from the Colorado River from the time of the founding of Los Angeles and the southern California metropolis.

It is not really a drought if you built the city in the desert in the first place, then shut off the water on purpose.

That whole area, from the 100th meridian to the Pacific coast was originally called the "Great American Desert". None of it gets more than 10" of rain in the average year and decades of drought are the norm for that whole corner of the continent.

Every concentration of population in that area has been placed there artificially because there is not enough natural water available to sustain either population or agriculture.
