Hey fellows, we are sending you a tropical storm.

That's OK you can thank us latter.

This one will probably be weak by the time you get it but it made me incredibly happy by flooding some of the cesspools along our east coast as it traveled north.

It is sweeping past Greenland at the moment and regaining some power as it takes the normal path and dips across Scotland and northern England.

BTW, some climate changers are trying to convince everyone that New York is sinking by showing flooding caused by the tidal surge. The ignorance is really hilarious! All of NYC is about one foot above sea level and there is as much city underground as above.

most of our weather seems to come over from the US, by the time it has travelled over the Atlantic it is usually downgraded from severe to merely strong.

It will not make that much of a difference MB , the way our weather pattens are at the present ....we are getting accustomed too the swings ........pole shift theories may well become reality ? Who knows ....just look at the drought conditions over with you , and food shortages will surely follow....water rationing especially for (family run farms) while the big boys get plenty .......ploughing good produce back into the ground because of the lack of water and being forced to choose a crop that might save them from going under and loosing everything ! .....I hope you Americans are supporting your local farmers ! .

Our drought conditions are media hype SS. The reporters are making a spectacle over drought in the desert. They are lamenting drought in the area that was once famously called the "Dust Bowl"!

They are not tracking climate change, they are tracking the overuse of the available water.

The areas in "drought" are supposed to be in drought. Just because humans decided to buy land, build houses and plant crops in the desert does not mean it is supposed to suddenly change from 10cm of rain annually to a meter of rain annually.

Right now the big cry seems to be that Lake Mede is drying up. Of course it is drying up, that area gets zero rainfall annually and depends on snow pack runoff. The snow pack is not failing, the population is simply sponging up all the water from the lake. Las Vegas, a city of millions, exists because of Lake Mede's water.

When Mede was built that desert was empty, for 50 years it has been one of the fastest growing parts of the nation and the population has outgrown the resource.

Same in all of our west. Everything past the 100 meridian to the pacific northwest gets less than 30cm of rain annually. Any food generated is grown artificially by diverting natural streams or deep well irrigation. They can still grow wheat over much of it, but the veggie patch will suffer.

When you hear about drought and fire in California you are hearing about the natural state of being for that region. All of California from just north of San Francisco to Mexico has been created from the desert it was for the past 20,000 years.

MB is spot-on. Fifty years ago the environmentalist whacko, do-gooder, Dickie-bird and butterfly netters were pushing for zero population growth, stating that the earth was beyond its carrying capacity and that we were all doomed. The PRC bought into this and instituted their one-child policy and mandatory sterilization of mental defectives and political undesirables with an efficiency which The Third Reich would have envied.

The same crowd now is celebrating the Chinese Wuhan Red Death as the salvation for the planet with the hope that the fears of anti-vaxers will enable the next planned release of a bioweapon to be even more effective, being much more merciful than mass starvation caused by loss of productive arable land due to climate change. It also preserves the infrastructure and does it more neatly than global nuclear war. What are a few billion unproductive malbushim more or less?
