That brought tears to my eyes mate. I've never really wanted kids, but I'm starting to think otherwise. That's really awesome.
I've decided, if you are looking after your children, then you are not a raider. I think that situation would call you a good parent first.
never wanted kids,never had kids, cant have kids, i am the original LONER the word was invented for me! most happy when i am on my own, doing my own thing, doing what i want to do, this is why i dont mind being the lone wolf WTSHTF. being alone dosent give me the "heabygebies" like it seems to do most people and after TSHTF i will keep as far away from people as i can and this is very easy to do in the area where i live, once you get away from the cities and the large towns, there is this great swathe of countryside in North Devon where there isnt many people, its too remote and isolated for your ordinary townie, but is just ideal for someone like me, lots of isolated, deserted property .

Unfortunately due to a limited amount of space stockpiling is not an option I can realistically maintain or expand beyond a week or so.
Scavenging is pretty much my default action for the time being. Even so, raiding(murder to survive) shouldn't be a necessity for me but I wouldn't say that I wouldn't steal to survive.
i think there is a difference between raiding and scavenging, raiding is taking,sometimes by force, something that belongs to someone else, scavenging is acquiring and using something that has either been abandoned or has no obvious owner. i intend to be a scavenger/probably already am given my lifestyle, but i dont envisage being a raider/looter.
