RE: 2013 Solar Flare?
I was on the 40 meter band this morning and was told that the radiation from the latest solar flare will arrive here sometime tomorrow. My antenna will be uncoupled from the radio tonight!
If at first you don't secede, try, try again!

Mine too, but its not expected to be anything grand, the spacecraft sensor sent down a short 8 second film of it as it hit them, it looks like a big flash followed by a snow shower

Find a resilient place and way to live, then sit back and watch a momentous period in history unfold.

RE: 2013 Solar Flare?
So we are in summertime now, are we near to the DATE you mentioned, or has it passed, it does no harm to have knowledge of these potential events even if nothing occurs, cheers

RE: 2013 Solar Flare?
Forecasting solar flares is a lot harder than forecasting weather, and look how often they get that right...
For the past 2 years, the sun has been TOO quiet. As soon as a sunspot gets a look at Earth, it decays and dies... We are not even getting the C and M class flares that we NEED, which could cause a problem greater than that of a mega flare.
Growing food without electricity is easy, not so much during an ice age...
