Planning to do a first aid course before the end of the year, seeing as its half an hour at best for a medic to get here.
But which one is better in your opinion(s)
Red Cross or St. Johns ambulance ? Or is it much of a muchness.

Much a muchness, try your local NHS Ambulance service very often they run FA courses as well and they tend to be more dynamic and up to date.

I done the standard 28 hr course with the red cross a few years ago, it was free as I volunteered with them. I learned some things but all of it is in the first aid book... so it was just practicing the hands on things and getting the certificate.

They used to do lots of free course but no longer. I'm looking at booking a session in the next few months.
