Slingshots/Catapults?

RE: Catapult darts.
I've noticed quite a bit of interest in these systems and there is no denying they can be very effective. Unless you are very experienced in using catapults they have the capacity to cause really bad accidents. The video below explains how to use them and the pitfalls. The Man presenting it is an expert practitioner and hunter with these systems, but the dangers are very real. Personally I would avoid these like the plague.

slingshot/catapult hunting of small game post SHTF is a viable option. you dont even have to kill it, just knock it down for long enough to get to it and "deal" with it before it recovers.

A lot of people are using these darts as in the video, but they are bloody dangerous BP, there is not much room for error in your loose, and I don't know if you've watched the video but the injuries are horrific. It is going to end really bad for someone I fear

Yea they’re horrible things those darts . I can’t see any real practical use for them . I’m in no rush to put one through my hand . I shoot roughly 25 shots a day with my catty . I’ll stick to my regular ammo .

I think it's a case of trying to re-invent the Wheel regarding ammo Talon. These darts don't have any significant advantages over conventional ammo, but they have all the disadvantages, a dangerous gimmick imo.

I look at those darts and immediately recall one of the famous sayings we have in the American south.

"You can't fix stupid!"

I have noticed a trait of the British is to over-worry and even pass laws trying to protect stupid people.

Don't have a worry about the people that decide to use them. Just consider it another way to thin out post apocalyptic competition through infection, blood poisoning, gangrene, and eventual death.

I've got a slingshot bow fixed up but I dont use darts, I use small arrows which are longer than those darts .

MB, The socialist who infest our political parties sure love making laws. Most of which should be repealed. I look at it this way though that when law and order collapses all the snowflakes will perish eating washing tablets or starving to death because the are out of tofu. The rest, although not preppers, will be out and about whilst they can and they will not be following any laws.

So, I have a few slingshots but more catapults. All sealed away and lots of ammo. Mint Imperials are great for practice as they are cheap but when we go live we want something a bit more solid that will last and hopefully be visible. Mint Imperials are at least visible after use and you can get brighter ball bearings or marbles.

Prep now and then you will have the tools later regardless of current laws. It is legal to own but not use so buy it and don't use it.
