I try to keep things stupid simple. My list of household hygene stuff is small.

Carbolic soap
Washing soda crystals
Boric acid crystals
bicarbonate of soda
White vinegar
Cloths
2 large flexi tubs
Bleach

I can pretty much clean and sanitise anything with that lot.

BP, I'm with Mrs BP, soft TP is not a luxury!

I use this stuff anyway, so just keep extras stored.

Clothes that are washed or cleaned will last alot longer without grit and grime wearing out the fabric.

Agreed!

Hygiene wise in a PA or SHTF scenario wiping your arse with bits of paper is not going to be enough, you need to wash your rump clean then wash and sterilise your hands.

Well if TP is a necessity then you better stock up.

However, eventually it will run out no matter how much you put aside. What then?

If you're going to stock TP, might as well make as comfortable to use as possible, I'd do the washcloth thing no problem. However, you men type folks having different downstairs equipment, have no idea the joy soft TP can bring a woman!

I'm just going to throw my dirty skiddies at the wife an tell her to make them clean again.

How she does that is up to her.

There is a wild plant called Soapwort and as its name suggests, it contains Saponins. Saponins are named from the Latin word Sapo which means soap. You would be able to obtain a lather for washing with this plant. There are other plants too, that contain saponins, so when out in the country near to water you will be able to experiment with the plants that are in the area. Be careful though that you're not handling poisonous plants. Kenneth Eames.
