If you're content carrying a concealed weapon …

Skvez, as i have said before, i dont live in a city(anymore), or even a large town, i live in a small rural town, i wouldn't go into a city wearing my lock knife,or on the trains or a plane. my knife is a small one with a 3inch blade and i dont go waving it about nor do i intend to stab anyone with it. like i say it is not instantly noticeable and most people will NEVER see it although it is there on my belt. my knife is a TOOL and nothing more. BP.

Here we see the distinctions between different peoples takes on carrying a knife, some see carrying a knife as a weapon that could very likely attract the attention of the authoritoes, alternatively we have another take that sees carrying a knife as a tool not a weapon and living in an environment where the authorities would not be interested. Its a fascinating distinction just like Urban and Rural preppers.

Like we see on the TV people going mad if children are caught in the city carrying a knife, compared to rural communities where kids can get into trouble for NOT carrying a knife, lighter, compass, torch etc.
Thats just got me thinking about Redcar and Harlepool, and Barnard Castle, Middleton areas. In the first two places you will see dozens of folks young and old wearing and using filleting and splicing knives, and in the second two places you see young and old just wandering around with shotguns especially after 12/8 . Now if you transplanted those decent normal hard working citizens into the diverse, socialist, inclusive , politically correct dumps we call cities those same folks would end up being treated as as thugs, gangsters and criminals.

As far as "the authorities" are concerned , living in a rural area there is no such thing as a "local" police station, our nearest is 8 miles away and that is only manned part time ,our nearest full time police station is at Exeter 30 miles away! as for actually seeing a copper, the last time was nearly 2 years ago when there was a "domestic" in the next street.

When i'm at work I carry a Leatherman Fuse (with locking blades) on a pouch on my belt. I can justify the locking blades due to the nature of my work and the other tools are all extremely useful. At all other times I carry a small Leatherman Squirt (non locking blades and about as inoffensive a multitool as you will find) in my pocket.

If I have nothing else on me at all (very rare) then at least I know I can rely on the Leatherman.

Not forgetting a disposable lighter as well, life wouldn't be worth surviving without a roll-up or two, and it also has the obvious use of lighting a fire to purify water, provide heat, cook etc

I would short circuit out a metal detector if I was asked to pass through one, thats why I elect not to go to places that need them.

I carry a legal knife and avoid places where I can be searched. I went to court as a witness a few weeks ago and they would only let me in if I threw the knife away. I refused and walked out the court case is being rescheduled. Smile

If I do the same again though my mate will have to do without a witness. So i can only play so much. I'm going to complain though. Compaining smy new hobby.

there are a few places where carrying a knife is asking for it, a court case is one of these places, followed by the police station, a plane or anywhere with a metal detector.

I would rather keep my fingers intact and keep using my lock knife that risk mutilating myself with a UK spec non locking blade.
