RE: But would you?
i'd like a decent shotgun for myself and one for the wife, and maybe a decent hunting rifle, and a couple of handguns if we could just go out and buy them without all this FAC business.

RE: But would you?
The only things I would add to my collection is a couple of pistols and the expanded mag shotguns followed quickly by an upgrade to the semi auto version of the 223. If I felt I had everything else I wouldn't say no to an MP5 or MAC10.
I've never been bothered by what other people think. I'll quite happily watch them beg for mercy from their new masters whilst I make my escape.
It amazes me the number of people that are quite happy for plod to use deadly force whilst complaining abut them never being there when needed and denying others use of arms because they don't like the idea. They want to be toothless then let them but the drag everyone down with them and for that they are murderers. Legal ones like Plod but still murderers.

Hrrngh. "Military type".
I'd get something like that eventually. Its not a priority purchase. Plus it avoids the whole "omg why do you need that, do you want to kill children assaultrifle is that even legal" bullshit you'd get.
Yes I would totally buy an ar variant and cover it in magpul aftermarket parts. An ak or a century arms/ norinco type 56 version or whatever or a converted saiga but I could do what i needed to do with a mini14 without soccer moms suddenly being terrified for no reason.
I'd also get a moisen nagant and convert it to a obrez because why the hell not.

RE: But would you?
I'd kit up to the point where a 50cal would be near an EDC haha.
My 'concealed carry' would vary up to a desert eagle! If some idiot decided to come into the cinema and ruin Finding Nemo 3D with his assault rifle, I'd have a .50 winged friend response! Also, I'd ask the cinema to give me free popcorn (because some idiot ruined my viewing experience and started shooting, which probably warrants at least a medium bag of popcorn, maybe even a large!!!) after I'd taken the guy out and confiscated his guns.
I'd have everything I could afford, that was standardised, and as much ammo as possible!
Would I have shotguns, damn right. Handguns? First purchase! Mil Spec rifles? NO!!! I'd have mine custom Mil-Style!!! Would go as far as to try and get a mini gun....if finances allowed!!! Defo have a 50cal sniper rifle!!!
I'd have everything from 22's to 50's that I could afford to play with!!!

I'd obviously run around with everything at the same time haha.
Would be awesome to have open access to guns.

yeah, i'm with you there, its the FAC puts me off not the actual guns, a shotgun would be handy + a concealed carry handgun...perhaps an automatic?
I'd want to cover the spectrum and have spares.
Handguns, probably 4 or 5 (Desert Eagle for novelty for sure)
Shotguns, 2 or 3 max Plus a single solid slug special rifled one
Assault Rifles, 10/22's for fun, AR15's (2 or more...spares and redundancy concept), and a few others
Bolt Actions and sniper rifles, Remington 700, M82A1, and a few more
Specials: Minigun! P90 for the tech element. LAW, just because I could haha.
