circling back round to the topic i think loads of people will have backpacks or bags of some sort. if you happen to stumble into the path of the kind of person who will kill you for your stuff, they will blow your brains out if you have mollee gear or an aldi bag. they wont care what it's in just that they can get it

What about going the other way ? Would the average would-be assailant go after the nondescript with the Aldi bag, or the xbow wielding molle-clad road warrior ?. I think either way, if your prepared for everything except mentally for a dangerous confrontation, you could see yourself handing over that xbow and backpack to the Aldi bag carrying man armed with nothing more than a very aggressive disposition.
