Several large fenceposts, some wonderful garden tools, a garden machete, oven cleaner spray, my kitchen equipment and an irritable dog...ooh, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Close at hand I have a pool cue. (Break it in half if I need it pointy). Smash a mirror. Very sharp edge. Industrial plastic bag. Power cable. (Imagine swinging that round a couple of times and hitting an intruder with the plug they will go down quick)

I tend not to keep anything to hand.

My two GSD's go a bit mental when they see anyone pick up what they perceive as a weapon.

Quite scary, if you don't know them well.
