Sky news UK is reporting that one specialist company alone in Kingston upon Hull is selling 50,000 level four personal protective suits A MONTH to NGOs, agencies, groups, charities and others. 50,000 A MONTH, they also report a shortage of suitable protective clothing available to health care professionals.

EDIT, BREAKING NEWS, Sky News 10.20AM today Sky news reports that in the last hour the orders for 50,000 level four protection suits has been DOUBLED to 100,000 suits A MONTH !!!. Now that is intel you can give serious consideration to.

Now this is something I know about.....

I haven't seen the Sky report, but if they selling type 4 coveralls, then that is a concern, BUT its a very very likely scenario!!

The fact is and its been this way for at least 2 months now, is that there are no (ZERO) supplies of Type 3 Coveralls available anywhere in the UK.

We have lost count of the number of enquiries that we have had for the supply of Type 3 coveralls from NGO's, Charities, EU Health Providers and private companies. Quite a few of those enquiries have been for quantities of 100,000 pairs per month. But bear in mind that you have to change the coveralls every 40 minutes, so you can soon see how quickly the supplies can be run down!

The main manufacturer is DuPont (they account for something like 95% of production) and they are refusing to supply any wholesalers or trader suppliers such as ourselves until March 2015 at the earliest! We have been told that this date is however highly optimistic. At present 100% of production is being sent direct to the likes of the WHO and some other central governments. But even the NHS Trusts are unable to buy them directly themselves.

Type 3 is the grade needed for Ebola protection.

Type 4 offers 'limited' protection.

Type 5 & 6 as used in the asbestos removal industry are near useless!

So if you are hoping to purchase suitable coveralls, you are already too late.

3M however will shortly be supplying their 800J coveralls, which do offer type 3 protection, but I am expecting supply of these to go the same way as the DuPont Tychem F coveralls which are the current coverall of choice.

Best to just keep clear of everyone if an outbreak were to occur anywhere nearby. After all most of the infected health care workers have become infected when removing their PPE.

I've always said if anything like this hits the UK forget protective suits we are going into total lockdown and quarantine. nobody come in nobody goes out until its run its course.

Yup Ebola cannot hurt you unless you physically come in contact with it, if it escapes into the community at large I guess self imposed lockdowns in our homes for a month is the best probable course of action.

The current outbreak has been going strong for 10 months and is not showing signs of slowing down, in fact, it is speeding up.

Since the incubation period is 21 days, one must consider quarantine from the time the outbreak begins until 21 days after the last victim recovers.

That could be years!

And that "direct contact" thing has been proven false. Read the links provided. Anything they touch while infectious will transmit the disease for days.

Semen has tested positive and infectious for 90 days after recovery. So a recovered and seemingly healthy male could have sex with a woman 60 days after the outbreak was "contained" and start the process all over again.

Are you really prepared for an 18-24-36 month quarantine?

If this gets loose in GB you do not have enough petrol to burn all the bodies.
