Only cache is left so prep cache, many claim to do this I doubt half really do just net talk, don't fall into this trap, BOB without cache equal death.

With respect Wet & cold, I am sorry I do not agree! You have ended up with the mindset of having Caches to get you through & therefore that your BOB does not need to have all you need to survive for an extended period. The major flaw with this - is that if you can not reach any caches for whatever reasons - then you are screwed. Bigtime! A BOB is not just to enable you to get to a cache, well not for many many other preppers anyway. We prep for the possibility that we will not be able to recover any caches, nice if you can, but what if you can't. Maybe you are swept along in some type of enforced evacuation. maybe a big natural disaster makes visiting cache sites untenable & you have to get out of dodge quick like. For many of us, a BOB may well contain the only items we can walk out of a disaster area with. this means that inside the BOB must be not only your most prized useful assets but also the necessary basics to get you by until you can resupply or scavange/trade for replacements further down the road. It also has to be carryable.
You are right that you can not survive (longer term) on the contents of a BOB, but it should contain the items that increase the odds the most + a certain amount of food etc. I do not think a BOB is ever envisaged to last forever, it is a means to an end and having the skills & knowledge to fill in the gaps is more important than concentrating on caches or home supplies. If you are cast out or raided of everything, then that will be the true test of survival.
I respect your view of having caches, but I am noting that this is not something we all count on in relation to bugging out. Safe travels, TL.
